Interwell Health Named Winner of UCSF Digital Health Awards in Consumer Prevention Category

Company chosen by a panel of healthcare experts and venture capital leaders

CAMBRIDGE, Mass., November 15, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — Interwell Healtha physician-centric organization dedicated to reinventing kidney care, announced that it had been crowned the winner of the 2022 UCSF Digital Health Award in the Best in Class Consumer Prevention category. Now in its fourth year, the UCSF Digital Health Awards honor innovative companies that improve healthcare through the use of technology. The winners were selected from hundreds of applicants by a judging panel of healthcare investors, executives, innovators and academics.

“We are honored that Interwell Health has received this recognition from the UCSF Health Hub alongside so many other health changemakers,” said Robert Sepucha, CEO of Interwell Health. “This is true validation for all of our clinicians, engineers and product designers who imagine a better way to partner with nephrologists and engage kidney patients to help them live their best life. I would like to congratulate all other nominees for their work to transform healthcare, and we thank UCSF Health Hub for validating the path we are following here at Interwell Health.”

Interwell Health was recognized for its technology that helps payers and providers intervene early in chronic kidney disease, providing support to patients that helps them manage disease progression. Lark Health, Welldoc Health and Omada Health joined Interwell Health as finalists in the Best in Class Consumer Prevention category. The winners were selected by a team of expert judges in the healthcare and venture capital industries.

“As a winner in the Consumer Prevention category, Interwell Health is truly the best of the best and changing the face of healthcare,” said Mark H. Goldstein, president of the UCSF Health Hub and general partner of venture capital firm Builders VC. “This year, our submissions grew by 30% to reach over 1,250 incredible early and late-stage digital health, health IT, devices and diagnostics companies worldwide. These winners represent an elite group blazing new trails in prevention and health care delivery.

The award comes at a time when Interwell Health, the company formed in August by the three-way merger of Cricket Health, Fresenius Health Partners and Interwell Health, is enjoying significant momentum. Last month, Interwell Health announcement a joint initiative with a respected health plan to integrate care coordination services and improve education and self-management strategies for members with chronic kidney disease and end-stage kidney disease. In September, the company improved its renal care capabilities by adding Acumen Physician Solutions, the leading provider of electronic health records and patient management software designed specifically for nephrologists caring for people living with chronic kidney disease.

Sepucha is scheduled to speak at HLTH on November 15 at 4:00 p.m. PST on the stage in the press room. Sepucha will discuss InterWell Health’s increased capacity due to the recent merger and share new company updates.
