SID Unveils Standard Updated Information Display Metrics

The ICDM is an important part of SID, chartered by the SID Definitions and Standards Committee. As IDMS is the world’s most popular guide to performing display measurements, SID is proud to have supported the team of dedicated volunteers who made the release of IDMS v1.1 possible. There are over 250 pages of new content covering areas such as characterization of color capabilities, high dynamic range displays, new temporal methods and over 100 pages on methods for evaluating proximity displays for l ‘AR and VR. Previous v1.0 content has also been extended in many areas such as 3D methods including brightfield displays, expansion of the reflection chapter to include transmissive displays, performance updates space and a variety of other enhancements. We are grateful to the international team of volunteers from industry, academia and government – over 50 affiliations in total – who created and updated this critically important guide to displaying metrology. “
