Soft-Tex International announces the opening of its second manufacturing facility in the United States, reaffirming its commitment to domestic production

WATERFORD, NY, July 21, 2021 / PRNewswire / – Soft-Tex International, a leading manufacturer of bedding and home comfort products, has announced the grand opening of its new manufacturing facility in Land of Sugar, Texas. The 170,000 square foot state-of-the-art facility signifies Soft-Tex International’s growing national footprint and commitment to redirect volume to national and / or nearshore supply chains.
“Soft-Tex has now exceeded our relocation target by 20% per year for 2 consecutive years. In 2020, we have doubled production at our Waterford, New York and now, with the opening of Soft-Tex Sugar Land, we have more than quadrupled our total production capacity from 2019 levels, â€said Marc Smiderle, Managing Director of Soft-Tex.
the Sugar country The facility currently manages warehousing and distribution operations, improving the overall efficiency of shipments to retail warehouse networks and direct-to-consumer shipments with ground service coverage of three days or better. The facility will create 150 jobs throughout 2021, in manufacturing, sales and marketing roles.
Soft-Tex International has committed to opening two additional facilities in the United States by the end of 2022 to further develop domestic production. Each location will use the Sugar country installation as a template. Soft-Tex International’s relocation initiative is expected to fill 1,000 jobs.
