Withings’ ScanWatch Horizon hybrid connected watch announced
French health and fitness tech company Withings has announced the ScanWatch Horizon, a smartwatch with a sleek dive watch exterior.
As the name suggests, the Withings ScanWatch Horizon is closely related to last year’s Withings ScanWatch, which impressed us with its health tracking, battery life, and gorgeous design.
Built on an equally strong hybrid foundation, the ScanWatch Horizon takes this latest design element to the next level. With a true laser-etched rotating bezel and Luminova indexes, it largely lives up to its diver’s watch theme, although a water resistance rating of 10 ATM is not the most extensive for such. show.
Still, Withings claims it is the most durable watch ever, with a 43mm 316L stainless steel case and sapphire crystal flat screen.
As a sign of the confidence Withings places in its traditional design, the company will offer the ScanWatch Horizon through jewelers as well as the usual technological outlets.
Besides this new, more premium design, the ScanWatch Horizon has exactly the same foundations as its older brother. You get a built-in ECG, blood oxygen sensor, and sleep apnea tracking, plus fitness tracking for over 30 activities.
All of this is displayed via a distinctive digital window in the analog watch face. There is no GPS, so you will need to connect to your smartphone if you want to properly track your runs.
Thanks to the hybrid nature of the ScanWatch Horizon, you can expect to get 30 days on a single charge.
The ScanWatch Horizon is available now in the UK, France and Germany for £ 499.95 / € 499.95. A US release is pending, due to the watch’s “clinically validated” ECG requiring FDA approval.
